QIAamp DNA Accessory Set A

An accessory set from QIAGEN that supplies the additional buffers and reagents needed for automated DNA isolation alongside QIAamp DNA Mini Kits or QIAamp DNA Stool Mini Kits running on the QIAcube instrument. The set is intended for molecular biology applications and is not designed for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.

According to the manufacturer, the set contains Buffer ATL (50 ml), Buffer AL (2 x 33 ml), Buffer AW1 concentrate (19 ml), Buffer AW2 concentrate (13 ml), Buffer AE (60 ml), Proteinase K (6 ml) and a product sheet. It is sufficient for use with at least 12 QIAamp DNA Mini Kits (50) or 8 QIAamp DNA Stool Mini Kits (50) on the QIAcube, depending on run parameters. All buffers can be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) for up to one year without reduction in performance, and the Proteinase K solution can be stored at room temperature or at 2–8°C for up to one year.

QIAGEN's QIAamp technology yields genomic, mitochondrial, bacterial, parasite or viral DNA, with purification performed via silica-based binding without phenol-chloroform extraction. Buffer AL and Buffer AW1 contain guanidine hydrochloride; the manufacturer warns against adding bleach or acidic solutions directly to sample-preparation waste, and advises wearing a lab coat, disposable gloves and protective goggles when handling the reagents.
