QIAamp BiOstic Bacteremia DNA Kit (50)

From QIAGEN, this kit is designed for the isolation of bacterial DNA from cultured blood, fecal and cervical swabs. The workflow combines mechanical bead beating lysis with QIAGEN's Inhibitor Removal Technology to remove substances commonly encountered in blood, swabs and culture medium.

The kit isolates pure genomic DNA that is free of inhibitors, such as charcoal used for antibiotic removal, which can otherwise make bacterial genotyping of cultured blood difficult. The resulting DNA is ready to use in bacterial genotyping assays, including next-generation sequencing, Sanger sequencing, Bacterial Barcodes rep-PCR, qPCR assays and multiplex PCR.
