qBiomarker Mutation Assay Control DNA

A characterised control DNA from QIAGEN containing defined somatic mutations, intended as a positive control in qBiomarker mutation assays. It supports verification of assay sensitivity and reproducibility, and aids assay validation and routine run controls in mutation detection workflows.

qBiomarker Somatic Mutation PCR Assays are designed to detect individual sequence mutations in cell lines or research samples, with applications in toxicology, drug development and cancer research. The mutations covered are screened from comprehensive somatic mutation databases such as COSMIC and from scientific literature, based on clinical or functional relevance and occurrence frequency.

In the workflow, genomic DNA is extracted from fresh, frozen or fixed samples. Equal aliquots of each sample are dispensed into real-time PCR tubes containing an appropriate pre-mixed solution and the qBiomarker Somatic Mutation PCR Assay, with a parallel aliquot added to tubes carrying the corresponding reference gene copy analysis. After the recommended cycling program, instrument software is used to determine the CT values for each mutation-specific assay and its corresponding reference gene copy analysis. These values are then pasted into the correct Excel data analysis template to identify which samples carry the mutation being tested.
