Description
This QIAGEN PyroMark assay is designed for analysis of LINE-1 CpG methylation as a surrogate for global DNA methylation, and is run on the PyroMark Q24 platform. The product is supplied with optimized reagents, controls and instructions for use, and is suitable for epigenetic biomarker studies and comparative methylation analyses.
The assay is specific for human DNA and was not tested on mouse DNA; mouse LINE-1 elements differ slightly in sequence and may not be detected. The PyroMark Q24 instrument itself was discontinued in 2018, but reagents will continue to be available until the end of 2026 and existing instruments are supported until that time.
