PyroMark Q24 Advanced Kit (4x24)

This kit from QIAGEN is designed to support Pyrosequencing analyses, providing real-time sequence-based detection and quantification. According to the manufacturer, it offers longer sequencing runs and higher accuracy than the earlier PyroMark Q24 system, making it well suited for analysing any kind of sequence variation. Particular applications highlighted by the manufacturer include the study of DNA methylation at CpG or CpN sites, the investigation of complex mutations, and de novo sequencing uses such as microbial typing.

The product is intended to upgrade an existing PyroMark Q24 instrument to PyroMark Q24 Advanced. The manufacturer notes that protocols have been modified and optimised for the advanced platform and now differ from conventional PyroMark Q24 protocols. To perform an Advanced run, the PyroMark Q24 Advanced Software must be used together with PyroMark Q24 Advanced Reagents or PyroMark Q24 Advanced CpG Reagents. PyroMark Q24 Software cannot be used with these Advanced Reagents, and conversely PyroMark Q24 Advanced Software cannot be used with PyroMark Gold Q24 Reagents; using the incorrect combination will result in incorrect reagent dispensations and lead to inaccurate results.
