Description
From QIAGEN, this reagent is a carefully composed mixture of alkaline proteins formulated to counteract substances that inhibit the PCR reaction. Adding it to a reaction mixture provides an ideal way of eliminating inhibitors originating from a DNA template isolation.
The product is supplied functionally tested, with no DNase contamination detected. Quality control evaluates DNase activity by incubating 1 μg of DNA with 1 μL of the enzyme for 4 hours at 37 °C, with results visualized on an ethidium bromide-stained agarose gel. It is also extensively tested in PCR reactions.
For use, the reagent is added to the PCR mixture in a 1:50 volume ratio — for example, 1 μL of the reagent to a 50 μL PCR reaction.
