PAXgene Tissue DNA Kit (50)

From QIAGEN, this kit purifies genomic DNA from human tissue samples that have been fixed and stabilized in PAXgene Tissue Containers. The system uses silica-based DNA purification technology in a spin-column format, providing a complete preanalytical solution for tissue collection, fixation, and stabilization through to purification of high-quality DNA for molecular analysis.

Designed for manual processing by centrifugation, the kit has a run time of 30 min plus a 120 min incubation per 8 samples, with an elution volume of 14–40 µl from a sample amount of 4 x 15 x 15 mm. Purified DNA exhibits A260/A280 ratios of 1.7–1.9 with a symmetrical absorbance peak at 260 nm, confirming high purity, minimized contamination, and no detectable PCR inhibition. On average, A260/A280 ratios for DNA purified with the kit are >1.7.

Suitable applications include PCR, quantitative real-time PCR, Southern blotting, pharmacogenomic studies, SNP discovery, and SNP genotyping. Three protocols are provided for purification of genomic DNA, including from fixed, paraffin-embedded (PFPE) samples. Procedures can be fully automated on the QIAcube Connect.
