Description
Designed for the purification of 6xHis-tagged proteins under native conditions from E. coli cell lysates, these centrifugation-based Ni-NTA spin columns from QIAGEN are supplied with Collection Tubes.
Unopened columns can be stored at 2–8°C for up to 18 months if not otherwise stated on the label. In the described workflow, a bacterial cell pellet is lysed on ice, the cleared lysate is loaded onto the pre-equilibrated column, and the bound protein is washed and eluted using NPI buffers; the protocol notes that >80% of the 6xHis-tagged protein is expected to elute in the first elution fraction.
