Neurodazine, 10 mg

A cell-permeable tri-substituted imidazole and neurogenic agent supplied by STEMCELL Technologies as an inducer of neural differentiation. The compound (CAS 937807-66-4) has the chemical name 2-[5-(3-chlorophenyl)-2-furanyl]-4,5-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-1H-imidazole, a molecular formula of C₂₇H₂₁ClN₂O₃, and a molecular weight of 456.9 g/mol. It is provided as a crystalline solid with a stated purity of ≥ 98%.

Published applications include inducing neurogenesis in C2C12 myoblasts and mature human muscle cells, with upregulation of neural genes; inducing neurogenesis and preventing astrocyte differentiation in P19 mouse embryonic carcinoma cells; and inducing neuronal differentiation in human SH-SY5Y and mouse Neuro-2a neuroblastoma cells, as well as in mouse NIH3T3 fibroblast cells. The compound is soluble in DMSO and absolute ethanol at concentrations of ≤ 20 mM, and has low solubility in aqueous media. For use as a cell culture supplement, stock solution should be diluted into culture medium immediately before use, with final DMSO concentration kept at or below 0.1% to avoid potential cell toxicity.

The product should be stored at -20°C as supplied, protected from prolonged exposure to light, and is stable as supplied for 12 months from the date of receipt.
