STEMCELL Technologies supplies Mouse Recombinant SCF expressed in E. coli, an early-acting cytokine that plays a pivotal role in the regulation of embryonic and adult hematopoiesis. Biological activity is demonstrated by the protein's ability to promote the proliferation of TF-1 cells, with proliferation measured after 65 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration at which proliferation is 50% of maximum, was determined to be 5.7 - 8.6 ng/mL.

The recombinant protein has a predicted molecular mass of 18.4 kDa, resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions and visualised by Coomassie Blue staining. It is suited to medium-scale experiments supporting hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell maintenance, expansion, and signalling pathway analyses.

For handling, the product should be stored at ≤ -20 °C. Reconstitute in a sterile buffer such as PBS + 0.1% BSA, prepare single-use aliquots, and avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. Researchers should verify concentration and biological activity for their specific culture protocols.
