Ms Recom M-CSF, 10 µg

STEMCELL Technologies supplies Mouse Recombinant M-CSF, expressed in E. coli, as a laboratory reagent. M-CSF is required for the maturation and activation of monocytes and macrophages and regulates inflammatory responses in conjunction with other stimuli.

Biological activity is tested by the ability of Mouse Recombinant M-CSF to promote the proliferation of NFS-60 cells, with cell proliferation measured after 44 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, and in the cited assay the EC50 was 1.1 - 1.6 ng/mL. The product is a homodimer of 18.2 kDa subunits with a predicted total molecular mass of 36.4 kDa, as verified by resolving 1 μg with SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions followed by Coomassie Blue staining.
