The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation reaches 50% of maximum, with an EC50 of 2.7 pg/ml reported in the cited assay. SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions, visualized by Coomassie Blue staining, indicates a predicted molecular mass of 19.9 kDa.
