A laboratory reagent from STEMCELL Technologies intended for research use, this Mouse Recombinant IL-7 is supplied as a solid powder. Interleukin-7 (IL-7) regulates the survival of naïve and memory CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, as well as αβ and γδ T cells, NKT cells, innate lymphoid cells, and T regulatory cells.

Biological activity is determined by the ability of Mouse Recombinant IL-7 to promote proliferation of 2E8 cells, assessed with a fluorometric assay. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration at which cell proliferation reaches 50% of maximum; in the cited example it is less than 0.4 ng/mL. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 15 kDa and migrates on SDS-PAGE to an apparent molecular mass of approximately 24 kDa.

Per the manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet, the product is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture under GHS, is stable under normal conditions, and should be handled in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Containers should be kept tightly closed in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place.
