Biological activity is assessed by the protein's ability to promote the proliferation of TF-1 cells, with cell proliferation measured after 70 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 in this assay is 0.15 - 0.22 ng/mL. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 26.3 kDa, determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
