Ms Recom IL-4, 20 µg

This recombinant interleukin-4 protein from STEMCELL Technologies is supplied for cell culture use. According to the manufacturer, IL-4 drives immunoglobulin class switching in B cells, mast cell hyperplasia, mucus production, and differentiation of naïve T cells into Th2 cells.

The biological activity of Mouse Recombinant IL-4 was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of HT-2 cells. Cell proliferation was measured after 67 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 — defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum — was 3.8 - 5.7 ng/mL in the reported example. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 13.7 kDa, demonstrated by resolving the sample with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (−) conditions and visualizing by Coomassie Blue staining.

Recommended handling includes appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed, and the container should be kept tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.
