A recombinant cytokine from STEMCELL Technologies supports the survival and proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and lineage-committed progenitors, as well as their differentiation into mature cells.

The biological activity of Mouse Recombinant IL-3 was assessed by its ability to promote the proliferation of Ba/F3 cells, measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum; the EC50 in this assay is 2 - 3 pg/mL.

In SDS-PAGE analysis, 1 μg of the protein was resolved under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. The predicted molecular mass of Mouse Recombinant IL-3 is 15.2 kDa.
