STEMCELL Technologies supplies Mouse Recombinant IL-3, a cytokine used in immunology and hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell research. IL-3 promotes the survival and proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and lineage-committed progenitors and supports their differentiation into mature cells.

Biological activity of this Mouse Recombinant IL-3 is tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of Ba/F3 cells, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, is 2 - 3 pg/mL in the example provided. For purity analysis, 1 μg of Mouse Recombinant IL-3 was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining, revealing a predicted molecular mass of 15.2 kDa.
