Ms Recom IL-3, 10 µg

A recombinant interleukin-3 (IL-3) cytokine from STEMCELL Technologies, supplied as a lyophilized powder for cell culture use. IL-3 promotes the survival and proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and lineage-committed progenitors, and their differentiation into mature cells.

Biological activity is determined by the ability of the cytokine to promote the proliferation of Ba/F3 cells, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, and is 2 - 3 pg/mL in this assay. Purity is assessed by resolving 1 μg of the protein with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions, visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. The product has a predicted molecular mass of 15.2 kDa.

According to the manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet, the product is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). Recommended storage is to keep the container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.
