Ms Recom IL-17A, 25 µg

STEMCELL Technologies offers a recombinant mouse cytokine that is the founding member of the IL-17 family, which also includes IL-17B through IL-17F. It functions as a potent proinflammatory cytokine involved in defense against pathogens, signaling through the IL-17 receptor as homodimers or as heterodimers with IL-17F, and activating the NF-kB, MAPK, and C/EBP pathways. The product is expressed in E. coli and purified to ≥ 95% purity, supplied as a homodimer composed of 15.1 kDa subunits with a predicted total molecular mass of 30.2 kDa (Accession Number Q62386). Specific activity is ≥ 2 x 10^5 units/mg, determined by the production of IL-6 in NIH 3T3 fibroblasts, with an EC50 of ≤ 5 ng/mL and a typical observed range of 0.3 - 1.5 ng/mL. The endotoxin level is ≤ 1 EU/μg protein, measured by kinetic limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) analysis, and cross-reactivity is reported with human and rat.

The material is provided as a lyophilized preparation in 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid and is stable for 12 months from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -80°C. For reconstitution, the vial should be centrifuged before opening and the contents resuspended in sterile water containing 0.1% BSA to at least 0.1 mg/mL; pipette gently and do not vortex. Reconstituted product can be stored at 2 - 8°C for up to 1 month or at -20°C to -80°C for up to 3 months, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The product is also known as CTLA-8, IL-17, Interleukin-17, and Interleukin-17A, and is intended for research use only.
