STEMCELL Technologies Mouse Recombinant IL-13 is a purified recombinant protein supplied for laboratory research. Interleukin-13 (IL-13) is a cytokine that regulates several biological processes, including gastrointestinal parasite expulsion, airway hyperresponsiveness, allergic inflammation, tissue remodeling, and tumor cell growth.

Biological activity of Mouse Recombinant IL-13 is tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of TF-1 cells, with cell proliferation measured after 66 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, is 2.3 - 3.4 ng/mL. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 12.3 kDa, as shown by SDS-PAGE resolved under reducing and non-reducing conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining.

Manufactured as part of STEMCELL Technologies' cytokine range, the recombinant protein is produced to a guaranteed purity of ≥ 95% with endotoxin levels of ≤ 0.2 EU/μg protein, supporting consistency and reproducibility across multiple applications.
