Supplied by STEMCELL Technologies, this recombinant mouse IFN-γ is intended for immunology and stem cell research. IFN-γ is described as a cytokine that stimulates the antimicrobial and anti-tumor activity of macrophages, NK cells, and neutrophils. Recombinant cytokines from STEMCELL Technologies are produced under stringent criteria with a guaranteed purity of ≥ 95% and endotoxin levels of ≤ 0.2 EU/μg protein, supporting consistency and reproducibility across multiple applications. Biological activity of the mouse recombinant IFN-γ is measured with L929 cells exposed to EMC virus in a cytopathic effect (CPE) assay, in which the EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the cytokine at which cell survival is at 50% of maximum. In the referenced assay, the EC50 is 0.22 ng/mL and, when normalized to an internal standard, the specific activity is 4.3 x 10^7 units/mg.

When 1 μg of the protein is resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining, it shows a predicted molecular mass of 15.7 kDa.
