Biological activity is demonstrated by the product's ability to promote the proliferation of FDC-P1 cells, with cell proliferation measured after 91 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 in this assay is 3 - 5 pg/mL. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 14.3 kDa, as assessed by SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions visualized by Coomassie Blue staining.
