This isotype-matched control reagent from STEMCELL Technologies is the Mouse IgM, kappa Isotype Control Antibody, Clone MM-30. According to the manufacturer, it is suitable for use as an isotype-matched control antibody to estimate the degree of non-specific binding by a primary antibody.

The manufacturer presents supporting data generated by flow cytometry analysis of human H1 embryonic stem (ES) cells. For the unconjugated form, cells were labelled with the Clone MM-30 antibody followed by goat anti-mouse IgG, FITC, and compared against a positive mouse IgM, kappa control antibody. Imaging data on Corning® Matrigel®-coated glass slides was also generated using the same unconjugated reagent with the same secondary antibody. Conjugated variants are similarly demonstrated: an Alexa Fluor® 488-conjugated format and a PE-conjugated format were each evaluated by flow cytometry on human H1 ES cells and benchmarked against matching positive controls.
