Ms IgG2b,k Ctrl, MPC-11, PS, 100µg

STEMCELL Technologies supplies this PerCP-Cy5.5–conjugated mouse IgG2b, kappa isotype control antibody, clone MPC-11, intended for use as an isotype-matched negative control to estimate non-specific binding by antigen-specific antibodies. As described in the product documentation, an appropriate isotype control should share the same heavy chain subclass (e.g., IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, or IgM) and light chain type (kappa or lambda) as the specific antibody in use, and a conjugated control should be paired with the same fluorochrome as the test reagent.

The antibody is monoclonal, produced in mouse (BALB/c), with the secreting myeloma cell line derived from the transplantable Merwin Plasmacytoma-11 line, which was induced by implantation of a plastic diffusion chamber into a BALB/c mouse. The antibody has unknown binding specificity after screening on activated, resting, live, and fixed tissues from mouse, rat, human, and non-human primates. It has been verified for use as an isotype control for assessing non-specific binding to cells in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence microscopy, including both surface and intracellular staining. The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with PerCP-Cy5.5 under optimal conditions; the solution is free of unconjugated PerCP-Cy5.5. It is formulated at 0.2 mg/mL in a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.1% gelatin, and is supplied as a clear liquid.

For storage, the product is stable at 2–8 °C when stored undiluted; it should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light. The safety data sheet classifies this product as not a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), and the product is intended for research use only.
