A laboratory reagent from STEMCELL Technologies, the APC-conjugated Mouse IgG2a, kappa Isotype Control Antibody, Clone MOPC-173 is suitable for use as an isotype-matched control to estimate the degree of non-specific binding by an antigen-specific antibody. Ideally, the isotype control should share the same heavy chain subclass and light chain type as the specific antibody being used, and when a conjugated antibody is employed, an isotype control conjugated to the same fluorochrome should be chosen.

This antibody clone has been verified for assessing non-specific binding to cells in applications such as flow cytometry and immunofluorescence microscopy, including both surface and intracellular staining.
