Ms IgG1,k Ctrl, MOPC-21, BT, 200µg

A mouse IgG1, kappa isotype control antibody, Clone MOPC-21, from STEMCELL Technologies is conjugated to biotin for use as an isotype-matched control. The manufacturer has verified it for estimating the degree of non-specific binding to cells by a primary antibody, and the clone is suitable for flow cytometry and immunofluorescence microscopy, including both surface and intracellular staining.

An appropriate isotype control should share the same heavy chain subclass (IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, or IgM) and light chain (kappa or lambda) as the specific antibody in use, and when a conjugated antibody is employed, an isotype control conjugated to the same molecule should be chosen. Use of such a control helps confirm the specificity of the antigen-specific antibody and indicates non-specific binding that may result from Fc receptors or other cell components.

Available conjugated formats of this clone include Alexa Fluor 488, APC, biotin, FITC, PE, and PerCP-Cy5.5. Demonstrated applications include flow cytometry of dendritic cells derived from human peripheral blood mononuclear cells and immunofluorescence labelling of human ES and iPS cells cultured on Corning Matrigel-coated substrates.
