The broader miScript miRNA PCR product line was phased out of production, with the miRCURY LNA miRNA PCR systems recommended as successors for researchers performing miRNA quantification.

The recommended miRCURY LNA miRNA PCR systems combine the convenience of a universal reverse transcription reaction with the sensitivity and specificity of locked nucleic acid (LNA)-enhanced qPCR primers. According to the manufacturer, the LNA enhancement enables the design of very short primers and probes that exhibit extremely high affinity and specificity, supporting accurate quantification of even low-abundance miRNAs without the need for a preamplification step.
