The B-component labeling reagent from QIAGEN's miRCURY LNA miRNA Power Target-Specific Biotinylation in vivo Labeling System enables researchers to tag specific microRNAs directly inside living cells or whole-organism model systems. Combined with the LNA-enhanced TSB capture probe, the reagent installs a biotin moiety on the targeted miRNA, allowing subsequent streptavidin-based affinity pull-down and preparation of cDNA libraries for next-generation sequencing readout of in vivo miRNA expression patterns.

Supplied as a single vial within the multi-bottle PowerTSB kit, this B-reagent is intended for use only with the matched probe and additional system components sold separately. Store at -20 degrees C, protect from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve labeling activity. The system relies on locked nucleic acid chemistry in the capture probe, which raises duplex thermal stability and improves discrimination between closely related miRNA family members that differ by only a single nucleotide.

Typical applications include spatiotemporal profiling of miRNA expression in zebrafish embryos, mouse tissues, and cultured cells, as well as studies of miRNA turnover, subcellular localization, and RISC association. Researchers investigating circulating miRNAs, exosome cargo, or tissue-specific miRNA signatures benefit from the in vivo capture approach, which avoids the artifact-prone steps of total RNA extraction and in vitro adapter ligation used in conventional miRNA-seq workflows.
