miRCURY LNA miRNA PCR Starter Kit

For laboratories needing to quantify mature microRNAs by real-time PCR, the QIAGEN miRCURY LNA miRNA PCR Starter Kit supplies every reagent required to convert cDNA into clean SYBR Green amplification curves. LNA-enhanced primers raise the Tm of the short miRNA targets, which is what lets the assay discriminate between miRNAs that differ by only one nucleotide and reject precursor or genomic DNA contamination.

The kit is used to validate hits from LNA miRNA PCR Arrays, to follow biomarker candidates in tumor, serum, exosome, and tissue samples, and to normalize expression against reference miRNAs such as miR-16-5p, miR-39-3p, or RNU6B. Its chemistry is compatible with Applied Biosystems, Bio-Rad, Roche LightCycler, and Agilent Mx instruments, so labs do not have to standardize on a single platform.

Each box contains a 2x SYBR Green PCR Master Mix, nuclease-free water, and ROX passive reference dye. Reaction volumes of 10-25 uL are standard, with a 2 uL aliquot of cDNA from the miRCURY LNA RT Kit providing enough template for detection down to single-digit copy numbers per well. Store the master mix and primer sets at -20 °C, protect from light, and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve Ct consistency run-to-run.
