Microbial DNA qPCR Assay Kits

Two pan-bacteria assays, Pan Bacteria 1 and Pan Bacteria 3, are designed to detect the broadest possible collection of bacteria involved in human biology. Both target evolutionarily conserved regions of the 16S rRNA gene. Bioinformatically, the assays are predicted to test positive for thousands of species, based on perfect and near-perfect matches of the primers and probes with target sequences. On-bench validation using genomic DNA from 119 species confirmed amplification for nearly all tested organisms.

Pan Bacteria 1 detected species across seven phyla: Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Euryarchaeota, Firmicutes, Fusobacteria, Proteobacteria, and Tenericutes. Pan Bacteria 3 additionally detected species within the phylum Spirochaetes. Each Microbial DNA array includes a genomic DNA contamination control; a Ct below 35 indicates bacterial gDNA contamination. The assays are free of bacterial genomic DNA.
