mericon Vibrio triple Kit (24)

A real-time PCR assay from the QIAGEN mericon Pathogen Detection range, designed for the specific detection of Vibrio vulnificus, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, and Vibrio cholerae in food or animal feed samples. The kit combines primer sets and probes for three Vibrio species within a single multiplex reaction.

Each mericon PCR Assay is supplied as an optimized mixture of pathogen-specific primers and probes together with an internal control. The target is detected with a FAM reporter dye and the internal control with MAX NHS Ester reporter dye, allowing amplification of the pathogen target and monitoring of PCR inhibitors within the same reaction. The accompanying Multiplex PCR Master Mix contains HotStarTaq Plus DNA Polymerase alongside QIAGEN's Factor MP and Q-Bond technologies for fast-cycling multiplex PCR with high tolerance to inhibitors present in food matrices. According to the manufacturer's handbook, each assay can detect down to 10 target copies in a reaction.

mericon Pathogen Detection Assays are intended for molecular biology applications in food, animal feed, and pharmaceutical product testing and are not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease. The assays perform optimally on the Rotor-Gene Q and have been validated for block thermal cyclers as well.
