mericon Salmonella spp Kit (96)

QIAGEN's mericon Salmonella spp Kit is designed for the general detection of Salmonella subspecies in food, animal feed, and pharmaceutical products using real-time PCR. The assay is AOAC-PTM-validated and runs optimally on the Rotor-Gene Q, with validation for block thermal cyclers and compatibility with the QIAsymphony AS using software version 4.0 or higher.

Each kit contains target-specific primers and probes together with an internal control. The test sample is detected with a FAM reporter (495/520 nm) and the internal control is detected with a MAX NHS Ester reporter (524/557 nm). The Multiplex PCR Master Mix incorporates HotStarTaq Plus DNA Polymerase, a buffer featuring Q-Bond for fast cycling and Factor MP for multiplex PCR, and is highly tolerant to PCR inhibitors commonly present in food. Each assay can detect down to 10 target copies in a reaction.

For use on the QIAsymphony AS, the minimum sample (eluate) volume is 85 µl, with a master mix volume of 10 µl and a template volume of 10 µl. With no replicates and manual preparation of master mix, the runtime is approximately 8 min for 24 assay positions or approximately 26 min for 96 assay positions. ROX passive reference dye is provided in a 50x solution suitable for instruments such as the Applied Biosystems models 7500 and 7500 Fast. The kit is intended for molecular biology applications only and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease.
