mericon Campylobacter spp Kit (96)

QIAGEN's mericon Campylobacter spp Kit is a real-time PCR assay for the general detection of Campylobacter subspecies. Intended for molecular biology applications in food, animal feed, and pharmaceutical product testing, the ready-to-use system combines target-specific primers and probes with an internal control in a multiplex PCR format, delivering sensitive, specific amplification and straightforward data analysis. Use requires prior nucleic acid extraction and a compatible real-time PCR instrument.

The assay uses a FAM reporter dye (495/520 nm) for target detection and a MAX NHS Ester reporter dye (524/557 nm) for the internal control, enabling duplex readout in a single reaction. Each assay can detect down to 10 target copies in a reaction, with cross-reactivity bioinformatically and experimentally evaluated against a panel of related organisms. Proprietary buffer chemistry, including HotStarTaq Plus DNA Polymerase and Q-Bond technology, is formulated to tolerate inhibitors commonly present in food matrices and to support short cycling times. Performance has been validated on the Rotor-Gene Q and on block-based real-time thermal cyclers, and an automated workflow is available through a dedicated QIAsymphony AS application. The kit is not designed for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.
