Description
QIAGEN gel-containing tubes designed for phase separation in a 15 mL conical format, streamlining liquid–liquid extractions at larger scale. The high-density gel forms a stable barrier between the organic solvent and the nucleic acid-containing aqueous phase after centrifugation, allowing easy recovery of the aqueous phase and preventing carryover of organic solutions, proteins and other contaminants.
The product supports safer and convenient extraction of nucleic acids from organic solvents such as phenol/chloroform. It is suited to preparative extractions and workflows that require larger sample volumes, while improving extraction reproducibility and reducing carryover of organic solvents.
