MagAttract PowerWater DNA/RNA Kit (384)

A magnetic bead-based nucleic acid isolation kit from QIAGEN is optimized for the Eppendorf® epMotion® 5075 TMX platform and is also compatible with other automated platforms with similar features. The kit enables automated isolation of microbial DNA and RNA from any liquid or air sample that is concentrated on a filter membrane, and has been used to isolate nucleic acids from a variety of different membrane types used for air and water sampling. Both 25 mm and 47 mm filter membranes made of a variety of materials can be processed.

The workflow employs Inhibitor Removal Technology® (IRT) to remove PCR inhibitors released during extraction, and uses a proprietary magnetic bead system to isolate nucleic acids without binding residual contaminants. The magnetic-particle chemistry is tailored for low-biomass water samples and includes steps to reduce environmental inhibitors, supporting high-throughput processing for surveillance and research applications. The resulting inhibitor-free DNA and RNA is ready for demanding downstream applications, including PCR, qPCR, RT-qPCR and next-generation sequencing (NGS), as well as sequencing-based pathogen or microbiome analyses.
