MagAttract PowerSoilPro DNA EP Kit (384)

Designed for the isolation of microbial genomic DNA from challenging environmental and stool samples, this QIAGEN kit combines Inhibitor Removal Technology (IRT) with magnetic bead-based purification. The workflow delivers inhibitor-free DNA suitable for PCR, qPCR, and next-generation sequencing applications, including 16S and whole-genome sequencing.

Samples are processed by bead beating using PowerBead Pro Tubes or Plates with a mixture of zirconium beads, combining mechanical and chemical lysis to break open microbial cells. The recommended starting material is 0.25 g of soil or 0.1 g of stool, with the kit optimized for 96-well plate workflows. Prepared lysates are transferred to the KingFisher Flex or Eppendorf epMotion platforms for automated high-throughput isolation of DNA from up to 384 samples in less than 1 day.

Humic acids and other common PCR inhibitors are removed during the workflow, making the kit well suited for metagenomics, microbial community profiling, and other environmental DNA applications. Solution CD2 should be stored at 2–8°C upon arrival, with all other reagents stored at room temperature (15–25°C), and purified DNA stored at −30 to −15°C.
