Available as a sterile 250 mL ready-to-use liquid, this Lymphoprep density gradient medium from STEMCELL Technologies separates viable mononuclear cells (lymphocytes and monocytes) from human peripheral blood, bone marrow, or cord blood through a single centrifugation step at 800 x g for 15-20 minutes at room temperature with the brake off.

The formulation combines sodium diatrizoate with a polysaccharide to give a working solution at a density of 1.077 g/mL at 20 degrees C, allowing lymphocytes and monocytes to collect as a distinct band at the plasma-medium interface while erythrocytes and granulocytes sediment through the layer.

Recovered cells retain viability and functional integrity for downstream workflows including flow cytometry, cell culture, in vitro stimulation, and clinical immunology assays. The bottle should be stored at room temperature, protected from light, and equilibrated to operating temperature before use; aliquot as needed and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve gradient performance.
