Description

A recombinant human cytokine preparation from STEMCELL Technologies, supplied as a lyophilized solid from a sterile-filtered aqueous solution containing 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid and expressed in E. coli. The protein, identified as Human Recombinant CCL19 (MIP-3 beta), belongs to the CC chemokine family and is also known by alternative names including beta-chemokine exodus-3, CC chemokine ligand 19, ELC, Exodus-3, MIP-3β, and SCYA19. It corresponds to UniProt accession Q99731 (residues Gly22–Ser98), with the sequence GTNDAEDCCL SVTQKPIPGY IVRNFHYLLI KDGCRVPAVV FTTLRGRQLC APPDQPWVER IIQRLQRTSA KMKRRSS and a predicted molecular mass of 8.8 kDa.

CCL19 plays key roles in inflammatory responses, T-cell activation, homeostasis, and development. It is expressed in lymph nodes, thymus, and activated bone marrow stromal cells, and binds to C-C motif chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7) to induce migration of macrophages, T cells, and B cells. Its expression has been clinically correlated with autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and with cancer.

The preparation is supplied at ≥ 95% purity, with endotoxin level ≤ 1.0 EU/μg protein as measured by kinetic Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) analysis. The lyophilized material should be stored at -20°C to -80°C and is stable as supplied for 12 months from the date of receipt. The manufacturer's safety data sheet indicates the product is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and is not regulated for transport by DOT, TDG, MEX, ICAO, IATA, IMDG, RID, ADR, or ADN. Intended for research use only and not for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
