From STEMCELL Technologies, this small molecule is a potent and selective β-3 adrenergic receptor agonist supplied as a crystalline solid. It has a molecular weight of 584.7 g/mol and a purity of ≥ 98%, and is stable as supplied for 12 months from the date of receipt.

The compound activates β-3 adrenergic receptors and has been applied in studies of differentiation, where it stimulates lipolysis in human white adipose tissue, and in metabolism research, where it increases metabolism in rhesus monkeys. In gene editing workflows, it improves the efficiency of homology-directed repair in human induced pluripotent stem cells following CRISPR editing.

The compound has low solubility in aqueous media and is soluble in DMSO at concentrations up to 40 mM and in absolute ethanol at concentrations up to 30 mM. Stock solutions should be prepared fresh before use. For cell culture applications the stock should be diluted into culture medium immediately before use, keeping the final DMSO concentration below 0.1% to avoid potential cell toxicity. The product should be protected from prolonged exposure to light, and for long-term storage it should be kept with a desiccant.
