Investigator Quantiplex Pro RGQ 200

A real-time PCR assay kit from QIAGEN designed for the quantification and qualitative assessment of human and male DNA in forensic and human identity testing applications. The system uses TaqMan probe chemistry with a fast PCR format, providing robust and precise quantification within a high dynamic range, and detecting male DNA with exceptionally high sensitivity even in a very high background of female DNA (up to 400,000:1).

For the RGQ configuration, the kit targets four multi-copy markers plus a synthetic internal PCR control: a small autosomal human target (91 bp, Yellow channel, diploid), a large autosomal human target (353 bp, Red channel, diploid), a small Y male target (81 bp, Green channel, haploid), a large Y male target (359 bp, Orange channel, haploid), and an internal PCR control (434 bp, Crimson). The kit is validated for use on the Rotor-Gene Q system (5plex or 6plex only), with a template DNA input volume of 2 µL and a reaction volume of 20 µL.

The assay includes a newly developed DNA Degradation Control for assessing sample integrity and a newly designed Internal Control that reliably detects potential PCR inhibitors. The RGQ assay is described as the only commercially available assay that can distinguish between human and male DNA degradation. The product meets ISO 18385 requirements.
