Investigator Casework GO! Kit

QIAGEN supplies the Investigator Casework GO! Kit for the direct amplification of forensic casework samples. It is intended for the pretreatment of forensic samples, performing lysis without DNA purification on a variety of substrates, including sexual assault swabs, pieces of fabric, paper, cigarette butts, chewing gum, and other sample types. The generated lysates are compatible with all Investigator Quantiplex and Investigator STR QS Systems, and the kit meets ISO 18385 requirements.

In the standard workflow, 100–400 µL of Casework GO! Master Mix is added to the sample, followed by incubation at 60°C for 25 minutes and a subsequent 5 minutes at 80°C. For downstream quantification, 2 µL of lysate can be used with the Quantiplex Pro kit, or up to 18 µL with the Quantiplex Pro FLX kit. Up to 15 µL of the lysate can be used directly for amplification with the Investigator STR QS Kit.

The kit should be stored at 2–8°C. In sexual assault screening, the workflow can support sample processing decisions through male-quantification and Auto/Y ratio assessment.
