Investigator Argus X-12 QS Kit (100)

A multiplex solution for human identification from QIAGEN, designed for the direct, simultaneous amplification of 12 X-chromosomal markers, D21S11 and Amelogenin. The 12 X-chromosomal markers are clustered into four linkage groups of three markers each, providing heightened discrimination power for complex kinship and paternity testing, and helping fulfil the demands of complicated deficiency cases involving at least one female. An innovative Quality Sensor (QS) is included as a novel internal performance control, allowing determination of whether the PCR run was successful or whether no DNA was present in the sample.

The autosomal D21S11 marker enables alignment of the resulting profile with profiles from other autosomal STR kits from the expanded CODIS or ESS market, minimising the risk of sample mix-ups. The kit uses QIAGEN's fast-cycling PCR technology, enabling amplification in ca. 80 minutes. It is highly sensitive, delivering rapid and reliable results from trace or reference DNA, and is suitable for paternity or kinship testing and for gonosomal STR analysis of forensic stains. The product meets ISO 18385 requirements.

Amplification is performed at a volume of 25 µl per PCR with a BT5 matrix, and the amplified loci are labelled with one of five fluorescence dyes — 6-FAM, BTG, BTY, BTR or BTO. Compatible genetic analyzers include the ABI PRISM 3100/3100-Avant, Applied Biosystems 3130/3130 xl or Applied Biosystems 3500/3500xL Genetic Analyzers, with analysis supported by Applied Biosystems GeneMapper ID, GeneMapper ID-X or Genotyper Software.
