Investigator 24plex QS Kit (400)

From QIAGEN, this multiplex amplification kit is designed for molecular biology applications in forensic, human identity, and paternity testing. The kit simultaneously amplifies 22 polymorphic STR markers — including the CODIS core loci and the European standard set of loci — along with SE33, DYS391, and the gender-specific marker Amelogenin. Two internal PCR controls, designated Quality Sensor QS1 and QS2, are co-amplified with the STR markers to provide information about PCR efficiency and the presence of PCR inhibitors.

The kit uses QIAGEN fast-cycling PCR technology, enabling amplification in approximately 60 minutes, and features inhibitor-resistant chemistry. It has been developed for rapid and reliable generation of DNA profiles from blood, buccal swabs, and forensic stains. The primers are fluorescence-labelled with 6-FAM, BTG, BTY, BTR2, and BTP dyes. Each kit includes Fast Reaction Mix 2.0 (containing DNA Polymerase, dNTPs, MgCl2, and bovine serum albumin), Nuclease-free Water, Primer Mix 24plex QS, Control DNA 9948, DNA Size Standard 24plex (BTO), Allelic Ladder 24plex, and a Quick-Start Protocol. The recommended amount of DNA under standard conditions is 0.5 ng; internal validations demonstrated robust and balanced results with 0.2–2 ng DNA and reliable results with less than 0.1 ng DNA.

The product is intended for molecular biology use only and is not for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease. It is shipped on dry ice and should be stored at –30°C to –15°C upon receipt; once opened, the kit should be stored at 2–8°C for a maximum of 6 months. Each lot is tested against predetermined specifications under QIAGEN's ISO-certified Quality Management System, and the kit meets ISO 18385 requirements. The product was validated using the GeneAmp PCR System 9700 (with Gold-plated 96-Well Silver Block) and the Applied Biosystems 3500 Genetic Analyzer.
