Investigator 24plex GO! Kit (200)

Designed for human identification, the QIAGEN Investigator 24plex GO! Kit enables specific optimized direct amplification protocols without the need for DNA purification from blood or saliva on FTA paper plates or from buccal swabs. The kit contains 23 autosomal standard STR markers of CODIS, including SE33 and DYS391, and is approved for use in laboratories that generate DNA profiles for submission to the National DNA Index System. It is intended for the rapid investigation of comparison samples such as blood and buccal epithelium.

The kit components include Primer Mix, Fast Reaction Mix 2.0, Control DNA, Allelic Ladder, and DNA Size Standard. All components should be stored at –30°C to –15°C, with the Primer Mix, Allelic Ladder, and DNA Size Standard additionally protected from light. Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided, and DNA samples together with post-PCR reagents should be kept separate from the PCR reagents. Under these conditions, the components remain stable until the expiration date printed on the kit.

For buccal swab processing, a swab is incubated at 95°C for 5 minutes with shaking at 1200 rpm in a thermomixer using STR GO! Lysis Buffer, which must be ordered separately. After lysis, 2 µL of swab lysate is transferred directly to each PCR reaction. The thermal cycling program includes a hot-start step to activate the DNA polymerase.
