IL-Universal Primer

A single-stranded DNA oligonucleotide from QIAGEN, the IL-Universal Primer is added during the final library amplification step of QIAseq targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows. It anneals to universal adapter sequences flanking each prepared library fragment, enabling PCR-based enrichment of properly adapted molecules before sequencing on a compatible NGS instrument platform.

Because the primer recognizes a common adapter region shared by all libraries constructed with QIAGEN's IL (Indexed Library) adapter system, a single reagent vial can be used across multiple indexed samples in a multiplexed sequencing run, simplifying workflow setup and reducing the risk of pipetting errors during reaction assembly.

The primer is supplied as a ready-to-use liquid in a single tube and should be stored at -20 °C, protected from light and shielded from repeated freeze-thaw cycles. As a single-use consumable within the QIAseq Universal NGS portfolio, it is intended for research use only in molecular biology and genomics applications.
