A selective BMP type I receptor inhibitor widely used in pluripotent stem cell biology, IDE2 blocks BMP signaling through ALK2, ALK3, and ALK6 to support naive-state maintenance of human ESCs and iPSCs.
Researchers commonly combine this 5 mg vial with MEK and GSK3 inhibitors in the 5i/L/A or 4i/L/A culture systems, or apply it alone to suppress mesodermal and extraembryonic differentiation. The powder is reconstituted in DMSO to produce a stock and is typically added to cultures at 100 nM to 1 μM. Once reconstituted, store at -20 °C and minimize freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity.
Supplied by STEMCELL Technologies as a single-use research reagent for in vitro cell culture work, IDE2 offers a defined, small-molecule alternative to recombinant BMP antagonists such as Noggin, enabling reproducible manipulation of the BMP pathway in developmental studies and disease modeling.
