Hu Recomb IL-33, 100 µg

This human recombinant protein from STEMCELL Technologies is interleukin-33 (IL-33), a cytokine that contributes to allergic inflammation and stimulates host defenses against microbial and viral infections.

Biological activity is assessed by the protein's ability to promote proliferation of D10S cells in low serum medium containing no other cytokines. Cell proliferation is measured after 67 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation reaches 50% of maximum; in this assay the EC50 is 0.1 - 0.15 ng/mL.

Purity is evaluated by resolving 1 μg of the protein with SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions, followed by visualization with Coomassie Blue staining. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 18.1 kDa.
