Biological activity of the Human Recombinant VEGF-D was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of HUVECs, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, was determined to be less than 1000 ng/mL in the example shown.

SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing and non-reducing conditions, visualized by Coomassie Blue staining, is described for a 2 μg loading, with a predicted molecular mass of 13.1 kDa.
