Hu Recom VEGF-121, 10 µg

This human recombinant protein from STEMCELL Technologies is a vascular endothelial growth factor. It promotes the growth and survival of dopaminergic neurons and astrocytes, and supports vascular endothelial cells.

Biological activity was assessed by the ability to promote proliferation of HUVECs, with cell proliferation measured after 88 hours using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, was determined to be 4.02 ng/mL. Purity was analysed by resolving 1 μg of the protein with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (−) conditions, with bands visualised by Coomassie Blue staining.
