Hu Recom TNF-alpha, ACF, 1000 µg

A human recombinant tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) protein manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies, supplied in animal component-free (ACF) form for use as a laboratory reagent. According to the manufacturer, TNF-α facilitates adhesion of neutrophils, monocytes, and memory T cells to activated platelets and endothelial cells, and is intended for research in the tumor necrosis factor alpha area.

Biological activity was assessed by the ability to inhibit growth of mouse L929 cells in the presence of actinomycin D, with proliferation measured after 48 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration at which inhibition of cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, is 0.00877 ng/mL. Product quality was evaluated by resolving 1 μg of the protein with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (−) conditions and visualizing by Coomassie Blue staining.
